Amrita Bhubaneswar Honours Mentors on Gurupurnima

Guru Purnima, a festival which falls on the full moon day of Ashadha to honour the contributions of all spiritual masters, parents and academic professionals in shaping the life of students, was celebrated joyfully at Amrita Vidyalayam, Bhubaneswar.

The school ambience was filled with pure spirituality in the presence of  students, teachers and parents as the Pada Puja rituals were initiated by School Principal Mrs Mousumi Pattanaik, after a brief welcome note by Ms Minati Patajoshi and Ms Rupanwita Mishra. Guru Vandana and the chanting of Amma’s sacred name ‘Aum Amriteswari Namah’ 108 times by our music teacher Mr Rajendra Jena during the Pada Puja brought the feeling of divinity into every heart. The celebration took place in the school prayer hall, where the students worshipped their parents and teachers with chandan, kumkum, flowers and sweets. Dr Satyaswarup Vajpayee, the Sanskrit faculty of the school discussed the importance of Matrupuja in detail and offered clear instructions for the process, which was followed by the recital of Guru Stotram by the school choir.

The two hundred parents with all the students and teachers enjoyed the Odishi performance by senior students and the informative speech by Ms Khirabdhi Tanaya, a student of Class VIII. The memorable and auspicious day ended with Shanti mantra and prasad sevan.
