Honouring the founders of modern Odisha, Amrita Vidyalayam, Bhubaneswar commemorated Utkal Divas on 1st April 2023 on the school campus. The students and teachers being the proud residents of the state, celebrated the day with much zeal and zest.
The celebration started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest, Bri Namritamrita accompanied by Mr Sarala Prasanna and Ms Kuntala Bhatacharya. With the anchoring of Ms Madhuchhanda Parida, the first programme of the day – the chorus song ‘Bande Utkal Janani’ guided by the music teacher – made the whole environment patriotic. The dance performance ‘Mo Odisha’ won everyone’s heart, and the interhouse quiz conducted by Ms Sasmita Patra brought many interesting information about the state into the limelight. The winners of the quiz were felicitated with attractive prizes.
Ms Pranati Padhi focused on the sacrifices made by the stalwarts of Odisha for the formation of the state on 1st April 1936, and Bijaylaxmi of Class VI delivered an informative speech on the importance of the day. The second chorus ‘Mo Odisha’ by the students narrated the culture and traditions of the state, and the event came to an end with a graceful vote of thanks by Ms Priya.
