Amrita Vidyalayam, Janla organized the 7th Annual Sports Day on Saturday, December 21st on its sprawling campus in an atmosphere filled with excitement and enthusiasm. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by the invited guests, followed by a welcome speech by Principal Mrs. Mousumi Pattnaik. She addressed the esteemed gathering, emphasizing the importance of sports in a child’s life. The Chief Guest, Cdr. Pritika Sharma hoisted the flag and took the salute from the impressive march past by the four Houses, synchronized with marching music by the school band.

The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by Bri Biju. The school playground rimmed with flags and balloons and reverberating with the sound of cheers witnessed the lighting of the torch. The students displayed aerobics and yoga, enthralling the audience with their skill. The school atmosphere was filled with sounds of cheering for all the events of the day.

The valedictory ceremony at the end of the day started off with a lovely rendition by the school choir paying salutations to the Lord Almighty. The four Houses presented an impressive performance in various programmes that they had organized. Chief Guest Sri Akhileswar Mishra, Head Master, DM School, Bhubaneswar, and Sri Prafulla Kumar Mahapatra, Principal, Sivananda Centenary Boys High School addressed the students, advising them to keep up their sportsman spirit at all times throughout their lives. The winners were awarded prizes by the guests and the Principal proposed the vote of thanks. The day generated enough memories to be cherished for a long time to come.
