Kartik Purnima is deeply associated with the people of Odisha. In olden days, traders used to travel to far away countries in South East Asia for trading on this auspicious day. Moreover, people also observe a month-long fast and pray to God for blessings.
In our school, little children from our nursery section to Class I made paper boats of various colours and set them afloat in containers of water. Students of Class VII designed boats of various shapes and floated them in a nearby pond as a ritual to celebrate the festival.
