Amrita Vidyalayam, Bhubaneswar organised a Picnic for Classes 10 and 12 to Konark and Ramachandi. Seventy-five students accompanied by 12 staff members were fully packed into two buses. We left at 8:15 am and reached our picnic spot at 11:15 am. The students were served sandwich, fruits, and juice for breakfast. They thoroughly enjoyed the journey, and were singing and dancing until they reached the venue.
When the students saw the temple which is a masterpiece of creative genius in both conception and realisation, they were extremely thrilled. The temple represents the chariot of the Sun God, with twelve pairs of wheels drawn by seven horses evoking its movement across the heavens. A group picture was taken at Konark, with students modelling in different poses.
Everyone had a lovely time playing in the water with a ball at Ramachandi. They were served a delicious lunch at the right interval. The students were very thankful to the principal for arranging such a memorable and fantabulous day-out. The buses started their homeward journey at 3 :15 pm and reached the school campus around 7:15 pm. The students were given snacks on the way.
The day concluded with the chanting of Amma’s Dhyana sloka, to express our gratitude for the safe and wonderful trip. Everyone had a big smile on their faces which indicated that they had a marvellous day. All the students reached home safely with lot of joy and excitement.
