A winter workshop was organized by Amrita Vidyalayam, Bhubaneswar on December 3rd, 2018. It was a good platform to address academic issues and challenges that are faced by both teachers as well as students. Separate sessions were conducted for students and teachers by the resource person Prof. Krishnan Kutty, a career counselling consultant from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
The teachers were given pedagogical suggestions for dealing with students, which were based on the current need of the school. In order to create a receptive environment in the classroom, they were taught to use mind mapping strategies challenging the needs of all learners within a classroom and a visual, kinesthetic approach matching children’s developmental levels. It was an interactive and experimental workshop that helped teachers and students learn how to be more creative and pass with flying colours.
Overall, it was a Professional Development session for the teachers.
