Commemorating the red-letter day when India won freedom, unshackling itself from centuries of foreign rule, Amrita Vidyalayam, Janla, Bhubaneswar celebrated the 77th Independence Day with deep patriotism.
In the presence of five hundred students, staff, and parents, the Chief Guest Air Vice Marshal Mr Jyoti Narayan Burma, School Principal Ms. Mousumi Pattnaik, Bri Namratamrita Chaitanya, and Bri Rasikamrita Chaitanya unfurled the national flag and honoured the tricolour, the greatest symbol of national unity.
Various cultural programmes like patriotic dance, and a melodious song based on the theme, ‘Chandan Hai Isi Desh ki Mitti‘ that eulogises the greatness of our homeland from every particle of its soil to the unique story of each life. Spirituality is an integral part of Indian thoughts and divinity is manifested in every character here.
The song distinctly pronounces the glory of our country as the land of highest sanctity where even heavenly beings reincarnate. Competitions like creative writing, drawing, and debate were organised for the students with much fanfare and zeal. Keeping in mind the theme of this year’s celebration “Nation First, Always First“, an integral part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the chief guest in his address encouraged the students to build a new India, where peace and progress would always reign.
