A UNIQUE TOGETHERNESS AT AMRITA VIDYALAYAM – AIKYAM

As Amma, Satguru Mata Amritanandamayi Devi chairs Civil20(C20) India, a new wave of activities have been started to focus on transparency, independence, collaboration, gender equality and women’s empowerment and inclusiveness across the nation. And to celebrate this joy, an inclusive training programme was conducted at the school campus inviting the students of the Odisha Association of the Deaf.

The togetherness reflected the jubilation over the invitation by the Honourable Prime Minister of India to Her Holiness Amma to preside over the C20 Committee (a vital part of G20 Grouping) to spread the message of social equality and collaboration.

Children were welcomed traditionally by applying sandalwood paste on the forehead, and each one was pinned with a “You are the Light” brooches.

22 hearing impaired Class VII students of Odisha Association for the Deaf ardently participated in the Seed-Ball Making Activity with students of Amrita Vidyalayam and developed a special bond of friendship. Five experts from the Plant Lovers Group offered their helping hands in training the students of both the schools on Seed Ball Making. After the seedball activity, all the children together played both indoor and outdoor games like Kabaddi etc. They were given snacks and lunch. Before leaving many were teary-eyed. The students were presented with attractive handmade cards as a mark of love and appreciation by the children of Amrita.

The session was conducted under the detailed supervision of the Principal Mrs Mousumi Pattanaik and the inspiration of Bramhacharini Namratamrita ji and Rasikamrita ji. The programme was highly appreciated by the invitees and they look forward to revisit the campus again.
