Amrita Vidyalayam, Bhubaneswar celebrated the 70th birthday of Satguru Mata Amritanandamayi on Wednesday on the school premises which witnessed a huge participation by students and staff.
The celebration commenced with the lighting of the sacred lamp by School Principal Mrs Mousumi Patnaik, Brni Namratamrita Chaitanyaji, Brni Rasikamrita Chaitanyaji and teachers, followed by a musical chorus. Students and teachers worshipped the holy feet of Amma for her blessings during the Padapuja ritual.
In the cultural segment of the celebration, students initiated the cultural exploration with melodious bhajans, dance and guru stotram. The 108 sacred names of Amma, the spiritual mother of divine inspiration, was chanted by the students, which moved the hearts of the audience.
The school also organised a blood donation camp to mark the birthday celebration in collaboration with AIIMS Bhubaneswar.All the preparations such as arrangement of beds, sanitization etc. were made, and a team of doctors and nurses from the hospital conducted the drive. Parents and staff donated blood voluntarily, making this noble initiative a success to save lives.
The festivities ended with the sacred aarti to Amma and Prasad distribution. Principal Mrs. Mousumi Pattanaik coordinated the whole celebration.
