SEED BALL PROJECT BY AMRITA VIDYALAYAM STUDENTS

Seed Ball Project was kicked off by AYUDH in Bhubaneswar with a target of 5 lakhs in 3 months as a contribution towards the Millions Global Seed Ball Campaign of C20 Sustainable and Resilient Communities (SRC) working group initiated under the guidance of Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Chair, Civil 20, 2023. The Global Seed Ball Campaign was launched by Amma in April 2023 during Vishu festival. The project in Bhubaneswar will be executed in association with the Odisha Forest Department and Sahodaya group of schools, and will be coordinated by AYUDH and Amrita Vidyalayam, Bhubaneswar.

Dr. Pradeep Raj Karat, IFS, Chief Executive Officer, State Authority CAMPA, Dr. Sanjeet Kumar, IFS, Regional Chief Conservator of Forests (RCCF), Bri Amritatmika Chaitanya and Bri Niseema from the AYUDH National Coordination Team, Mr Jameel, Mr Ajith Kumar (District Forest Officers), Dr. Satyabrata Minaketan, Sahodaya School Complex Vice-Chairman, Commander Usha Sangwan, Vice Principal, Sainik School Bhubaneswar, Ms Mousumi Patnaik, Amrita Vidyalayam Principal, Bri Namratamrita Chaitanya and Bri Rasikamrita Chaitanya (Amrita Vidyalayam Management heads) together did the inauguration.

All CBSE schools of our Sahodaya group and registered students from the universities and colleges from Bhubaneswar took part in the project. The chief guests and speakers appreciated the efforts of the AYUDH team for their tremendous commitment and coordination to kick off the project in Bhubaneswar. They wished the Amrita team all the very best to complete the project successfully to achieve the “5 lakhs in 3 months” target.

On the day of the inauguration, a seed ball making workshop was conducted, and 250 selected students from various schools made 12,000 seed balls in just ONE hour. With such great enthusiasm, the AYUDH team is sure that they will cross the target of 5 lakhs in Bhubaneswar soon.

Bri Amritatmika Chaitanya and Bri Niseema from AYUDH National Coordination team shared Amma’s message about the importance of cultivating love for nature in the young generation. They spoke about Amma’s ashram initiatives under the UN Trillion Tree Campaign and said that this project is a great opportunity to implement and practice Amma’s words in one’s life.

Amma says, “Alignment with nature is the lasting and closest bond for the human body and life. Without the elemental forces of earth, fire, water, air and space, humankind and other creatures will cease to exist. Our essential consciousness is the totality of all these forces. As long as we do not acknowledge this eternal unity between humankind and these natural forces, peace, happiness, and harmony will remain a dream.”
